I had so much fun with Allison and Matthew.  The engagement session started on a nice sunny afternoon here in Macon.  We started and ended the session at the When suddenly it started pouring down rain!  We ended up having a lot of fun in the rain, and Allison and Matthew were really good sports.  They also brought along their adorable Shih Tzu, Reece.

August 27th, 2010

Barbara Jane and Alex are such a sweet couple.  It was really fun to see how much they balance each other out.  They are really perfect for each other.  I had the privilege of shooting their engagement session at Wesleyan College, and even though it has been sooo hot we made it through the session looking good!   So here’s the happy couple!

Meet Jennifer & Jason!  That is right, three Jenn’s in a row!  Ah, what a lovely name.  Jenn and Jason are a match made in media heaven!  Jenn works for the Telegraph, the local paper here in Macon, GA.  Jason works for Q106.3 which is my favorite local Rock Station.  It has been in the 100s so again the heat and humility has been unbearable, so the old terminal station downtown was a perfect, AIR CONDITIONED location to start their session.  The station has amazing old benches and amazing huge windows for some awesome natural light.  Ok, so onto their session.

blog_00013

Love this old phone booth.

blog_00023

Can you guess why Jason’s radio nickname is???

blog_00033

its Jason Hawk!

blog_00043

The are so perfect together.

blog_00053blog_00063

The ceiling in this place is amazing as well.

blog_00073

Jason loves to play his guitar for his lady love.

blog_00083blog_00093blog_00103blog_00113

How cute is she.

blog_00123

Being a little silly. Jason is so fun and energetic and he brings out Jenn’s silly side.

blog_00133

While downtown we stopped by Jenn’s work and picked up a couple of papers.

blog_00143

See even the news it telling everyone how hot it is…Sizzling!

blog_00153blog_00163blog_00173blog_00183

The next stop on our adventure was Jason’s work place, where he recorded a little interview with his fiance.

blog_00203blog_00213

Jenn’s ring was custom made by one of Jason’s dear friends Adrienne, here is a link to her work: http://www.greenlakejewelry.com/

We ended the session at the location where the two first met and fell in love.  Can you guess where we are?  Hint, Hint Jason used to host triva here.

I just recently photographed Jenn and Rob’s wedding.  It was such a blast and I will be sharing it here on the blog as soon as I can, but I wanted to go ahead and share their engagement session with you first.  We did the first part of their session on Burt’s Beach on Hilton Head Island. Burt’s Beach is the actual location of Rob’s proposal so it was the perfect place to shoot their engagement photos.

We were in the Lowcountry so we had to take some pics with the palmettos.

blog_00012

…and the old live oaks.

blog_00022blog_00032

This is a great little spot for crabbing.

blog_00042

We took quite a few on the beach.

blog_00052blog_00062blog_00072blog_00082blog_00092blog_00102

Jenn has the prettiest blue eyes….wait till you see her bridals.

blog_00112blog_00122blog_00132

Rob was proud of the ring he picked …it was simply beautiful and classic.

blog_00142

In the sand dunes….you would not believe how many stickers I picked up in here.

blog_00152blog_00162blog_00172After we finished up the beach session we headed to down town Bluffton where they actually live now.

blog_00182

Jenn is originally from Ohio and one of her favorite things about the Lowcountry (besides Rob) is the Spanish moss.

They are such an all American couple.

Jennifer and Jeffery started their engagement session in the back yard because we wanted to get a couple of shots with their two puppies.  With their wedding right around the corner I am glad we were able to do their session, even though it was a super hot day.  We planned their session around their two loves, Jeff loves golf and Jenn love the pool.

blog_00011

Their two pups.

blog_00021

One of Jenn’s friends made her this adorable sign for her get away car for their wedding day.   Jenn loved it so much that we had to incorporate it into her engagement photos.

I met Ashley and Tim a few months ago through a mutual buddy of ours and knew I would be friends with them both right away.  They are such a laid back fun couple, the kind you can just chill with.  When we got to planning their engagement session they told me that they love to plan outdoor adventures and since they are both from Macon they had been to the Prado before on a date so we all thought it would be a perfect exploration for their session.  It is one of those “Macon Places” that you know about if you grew up here, and I have been wanting to shoot there so Ashley and Tim were the perfect match!   We got there after a short hike and a few bug bites, but a tick check was mandatory after our adventure.  Enjoy the preview!

blog_00013

We had to consult a map!

blog_00023blog_00033blog_00043

So I am told that this was a place where monks lived years ago.  There is still a fireplace in the bottom part and it looks like people have used it recently.

blog_00053

We had a little fun with the arches.

blog_00063

I couldn’t help myself!   I just had to!

blog_00113

They are just too cute.

blog_00073blog_00083blog_00093blog_00103

I love the matching shades. blog_00123blog_00133blog_00143

I love this series of Tim and Ashley just chillin’ in the grass.

blog_00153

p.s. Tim, your beard is awesome!

blog_00163

Oh girl, those are some lashes.

blog_00173blog_00183blog_00193

I had to post an up-close shot of Ashley’s vintage art deco engagement ring.  Stunning!

blog_00203

After a little break, and a wardrobe change we headed downtown to finish up the session under the Grand Opera House’s entrance.  Tim works for the company that did all the neon work on its new sign so he really wanted some shots that showed off their work.

blog_00213

Ashley was rockin’ some killer heals.

blog_00222

They are One Thrilling Combination!

blog_00232blog_00242blog_00252

Tim got a little lesson from me on “the dip”!

Christina and Sam are such a sweet couple and I had a blast photographing their engagement session a couple of weeks ago.  They wanted to shoot down at the water front park here in Macon because when they first started dating they spent a lot of time there together.  It was a beautiful sunny and not too blazing hot day so we had an awesome session.  Sam is also a proud member of the US Air Force so since he is going for more of a casual look for the wedding day we took some pics of the couple with Sam in his blues.  I hope you enjoy the preview! blog_00012blog_00022blog_00032blog_00042

They both have such pretty eyes!

blog_00052

Christina is really such a doll.

blog_00062blog_00072blog_00082blog_00092

The couple is getting married at beautiful Pineola Farm in the fall and they are going with a wheat theme so we had to take a couple of engagement photos that tie into the look of their wedding.  We were so lucky to stumble upon this tall wheat grass.

blog_00102blog_00112blog_00122blog_00132

I don’t think this was the first time they smooched on this bench!

blog_00142blog_00152blog_00162blog_00172blog_00182

Meet Carlie and Anders!  I can’t say much more about these two other than it is amazing to photograph two people that are sooooo in love.  Their love is just contagious!  I have known them both from a distance at church and it was awesome getting to really know them.  We started their session at Carlie’s house which is where the couple will live when they tie the knot.  It’s an adorable house and her jasmine was in full bloom so we had to take advantage of it!  So check out their engagement! They are just so cute together!

Anders LOVES Skittles and always has a pack around!  Carlie and Anders were hanging out with the same group of friends before they really got to know each other.  They were in a big group and Carlie over heard Anders say that although he loves Skittles, the red ones were his least favorite…. well Carlie commented that the red ones were her favs.  A week later Anders brought Carlie a ziplock bag full of the red ones… he had pick them out just for her.  Too cute!

Lesley & Gus

June 3rd, 2010

I remember the first time I met Lesley and Gus! We were over hanging out with our friends Lee and Lori, and Lori’s sister Lesley came over with her then boyfriend Gus! They were such a sweet couple.  I was so honored that Lesley asked me right away to be her wedding photographer as soon as Gus popped the question.  We had a blast at their engagement session we started the shoot at Lesley’s parents house so that we could include her small horse, oh woops, I mean dog, Molly!

b_0001b_0002b_0003

Sweet, sweet Molly!

b_0004b_0005

While we were at the parents’ house we had to grab a shot with her dad’s old Model A Ford - It belonged to her dad in high school and her brother Landon is trying to get it spruced up for the wedding in August!

b_0006b_0007

Then we got to go out to Lesley’s Aunt Ann and Uncle Ralph’s house for some of the great outdoors.  Their house sits right over a lovely babbling creek.

b_0008b_0009b_0010

I just love these three.

b_0011

Gus did a fab job with Lesley’s ring! Classic and stunning!

b_0012b_0013b_0014b_0015b_0016b_0017

Lesley’s family owns Sam Hall and Sons that has taken care of the roads here in middle GA for years.  Her Aunt Ann used some of the old granite cobblestones from old downtown Macon to design a patio and walkways around her property!  I love that even out in the woods we find such a rich history.

b_0018

Ralph let Gus model with his old gun - a 1873 Winchester.  From what I understand it’s pretty special.

b_0019b_0020

Here are a couple more we shot out on a farm.  Gus grew up on a farm so he was in his element.

Even though Ivy and Will’s actual wedding date is not until June the 5th, the couple decided to go ahead and have a small private ceremony to honor Will’s mother who passed away shortly after the whirlwind marriage.   Will’s mother was terminally ill and his mother wanted to see the two get married.  So within a week, they set a simple ceremony in his mother’s living room with just immediate family.  It was simple and sweet and just in time.   Ivy is still having her dream wedding and so an engagement session was a must even though technically the two are already hitched!  So onto Mr & Mrs Will Scott’s “engagement” session!

blog_00012blog_00022blog_00032blog_00042blog_00052

She is so girly, and Will is a guy’s guy,  I wonder if they planned on the pink and blue?

blog_00062blog_00072blog_00092blog_00102blog_00112

I got to see a sneak peak of Ivy’s wedding band too!  I can’t wait to photograph them together!

blog_00122

Ivy, in the Ivy.

blog_00132blog_00142

One of Will’s favorite way to chill is fishing with his lady.

Did you see that Ivy’s pole is pink?

A couple of fun ones with my new toy that I got from photojojo.
