The Martin Girls.

April 30th, 2009

When Koutsunis and I were dating I lived in Savannah, GA and he lived in Beaufort, SC.  We used to meet half way in Bluffton, SC for dinner dates and sometimes we would go out with our dear friends the Martins.  They were such a fun couple and we miss them.  They had twin girls and then moved to Columbia, SC.  Then about a year ago they had another little girl.  I always called their twins “the strawberries” and now they have three strawberries!  I got to do a session last time I was in the ‘boro because they happen to be in town.  Jenny  Martin (that’s right she is a Jenny too) is a super mom and has mastered finding all kinds of ways to save money at lots of southern stores such as Kroger, Publix, CVS, and Walgreens. You have to check out her blog before you go shopping again! Her website is http://www.southernsavers.com/

O.k. so onto the photos!

Here is the baby.  It’s her one year portrait.

Garrett and Mallory are such a sweet couple!  I am so glad that I got to spend the afternoon with them last time I was in Statesboro (or as we call it “stanky-bobo”). This as an extra special engagement for me because I’ve known Garrett since he was born.  Garrett is my childhood bbf, Laurel’s little brother (you have to check out her blog!) Since we basically grew up together he is like another one of my little brothers and it was great to really get to know his future wifie.  By the way these people are some serious bloggers so I am going to link their names to their prospective blogs.

Garrett has always been a man’s man and by no surprise is an Army Officer.  Mallory is the perfect southern belle and a ballerina.  In fact that is how they met.  Mallory was dancing in Beauty and the Beast and they needed a handsome guy to play the beast when he changes into the prince…through a series of events Garrett ended up being her prince charming!  After one of the dress rehearsals Garrett got up the nerve to ask Mallory out for dinner and the two have been together since.

So we started their session in this gorgeous wheat field.

Mallory’s ring is so sparkly.  It is also a family heirloom and was passed down to her…I just love a vintage ring!

I though her shoes were so cute… they almost looked like the field flowers.

Next we headed to downtown to take a photo at the fountain where they went on their first date… how romantic! Oh my stars, Another FOUNTAIN!  That is 4 in a row!

Monday.

Today I got up and headed to Athens, GA with a couple of photo friends to check out the Seppa/Gppa trade show.  I have some great resources for albums and new products now! And Look out for the “baby birds” coming soon! (my baby club) While I was perusing photo booths….Koutsunis (the wusband) was a-golfing.  His company held its annual golf  tournament and he spent the day out on the greens.  He is not an accomplished golfer…ie. his golf clubs were a gift from some old ladies attic given via Lee G.  So when he returned home tonight with his trophy I was the proud wifie and had to take a photo of my champ.

The Winner of the Duffer Award goes to Koutsunis (cu-soon-is) Prater and team.

img_9911ps. that means he was dead last!  But now what am I supposed to do with this?????

I woke up early this morning and thought I would share a first look with anyone out there dying to see some of Abby & Brandon’s wedding (this is for you Lisa).  I will be posting the full wedding preview in a about a week so check back then for more of the fab couple and their day!  On the way from the church to the reception we stopped at Abby’s pink wall and got a couple of shots… this is my favorite!

Meet Amy and Jonathan! When I first met Amy we both found that we have something in common….we are both PK’s (preacher’s kids) and grew up in south GA very near each other.  Amy & Jonathan are also getting married in Savannah where I used to live!  Amy is a Spanish teacher and Jonathan just finished up med school at Emory.  Jonathan proposed to Amy in the middle of Centennial Park so that is where we started their session.060609-0048

Here is the spot where Jonathan popped the question. They had just had dinner and were walking through the rain across the park and Amy was all annoyed that he parked way on the other end of the park because she had to walk in the rain in heels…. but as soon as she realized what was going on and he was proposing she dropped their take out and said YES!

060609-0005

060609-0006We thought that rain was going to come but it held off just for us!

060609-0007

They are so adorable!

060609-0201

060609-0016Have you noticed a reoccurring theme in my last few engagement sessions. Fountains! I am thinking of giving them their own category and tag if this continues!  The Olympic fountain was filled with lots of soaked kiddos, but this couple managed to stay dry for these romantic shots!060609-0019My favorite!

060609-0024060609-0025And the gold medal winners are….Amy & Jonathan!

060609-0026060609-0027It’s amazing how many places there are to photograph in Atlanta!  We stopped for a drink of Coca-cola, it was refreshing and delicious. Hahaha, but fitting for the home of Coke…Atlanta, GA.

060609-0037all-proofs-1There was a British phone booth across the street that we had to take advantage of!

Then we headed to a museum for some artsy shots!

Lauren’s Senior Shoot

April 20th, 2009

Lauren is about to graduate class of ‘09!!!  Its kinda crazy for me to think about because I was part of the class of ‘99…man I feel old!  ha!  She is such a sweetie and has such great energy! We had a blast doing her shoot.  I think her personality really came through.  My back yard is not usually the first place I pick to photograph, but the little pink flowers were in bloom so we started there. 040909-0009

040909-0047Wardrobe change is always fun.

040909-0088Hooooray for Graduation!

040909-0137Oh so did I mention that Lauren is a ballerina?  I was so excited that we got to take some of her in her toe shoes.  Dance has been a big part of her life.  She is so graceful simply tying her shoes.

040909-0094040909-0096Check out her jump! Amazing!

040909-0138040909-0126A big thank you to Lauren and especially her fabulous mom Mrs. Debbie for being my assistant and making Lauren so comfortable!  I hope the rest of your senior year is a blast!  And just think in 10 years where you are going to be!  I never thought I would be so blessed with my own company, the man I love for a husband, a homeowner, a doggie mom, and aunt and so many more blessings.  God is so so good!

Please check out all Lauren’s Fab Senior session at this link!  There were so many awesome ones I could have posted all of them!

The weather was amazing for Emily and Adam’s outdoor ceremony on April 4th!!  We were all so thankful for the awesome sunshine!  It rained all week leading up to their day…and by rain I mean large parts of GA were under flood watch.  The wedding was held at Meinhardt Vineyard, as a sunset ceremony overlooking the gorgeous grounds!  Emily got ready at the Statesboro Inn.  They had all kinds of fab places to photograph her details….and man did she have some awesome details.

First. Her something blue ….. shoes!

She had the most complicated bustle I have ever seen.. it was even color coded.

I love her ring… it looks kinda like mine… not that I am biased or anything.

emilygray2974-editAfter all the girls were dolled up we headed to the vineyard for photos before the wedding.  We had so many bridals in the vineyard that I thought I would post one of my faves that was taken in front of the pines.

There were four flower girls and one junior bridesmaid that were part of the day.  Three of them are Emily’s nieces… and only a couple of days after the wedding she was blessed with a fourth niece!  But how cute are these girls?

The groom looked dashing in his lime green tie.

blog0022We had to have a shot with the tractor. It went with the wedding colors.

I love this shot Koutsunis took of them chillin’ at the wine bar.

Now these two really know how to rock the dip!

blog0048And my favorite! blog0050

Oh, remember here where I said Emily did something really cool with her bridal portrait?  Well here it is…she printed a canvas and hung it on an old door.  A really cool touch to her shabby chic wedding theme.

blog0058Between the cake and the candy bar the guests were sure to have a sugar rush.  The cake charm pulls were another special touch.

blog-6-21

Her yummy cake was done by Lorraine Zipperer….oh and it was red velvet!blog0059

If you ever are down in the ‘boro you have to check this place out and enjoy a sunset.

blog0072

A sweet bonus of having their wedding at a vineyard is everyone was able to sample the local wine.

My favorite part of the reception was when Emily’s uncle told the story of the Nuernberg Bridal Cup.  It has become a family tradition for the bride and groom to share a toast out of this special chalice that is designed for the couple to drink out of at the same time.  You can read the story here. blog-21All the lovely ladies pulling the cake charms.

blog0079I knew this was coming.

Emily and Adam ran through bird seed!  I know Emily was dying to know who put bird seed down  her dress…  here’s the evidence.

A BIG thanks to Emily and Adam and their friends and family that put so much into making the day wonderful!  I really enjoyed getting to spend such a special day with you!

I cannot wait to show you more!

Kensie’s new spring do!

April 14th, 2009

Kensie was looking a little shabby and it was time for her to shed her winder coat and enjoy spring!

kensie0001-4She looks kinda sad in the before pic but I think she knew a bath was coming…

and even with a new haircut and a bath she still manages to get stuff on that snout of hers! What a funny dog!

Happy Spring,

Jenny Evelyn

This past Saturday Koutsunis and I loaded up the dog(Kensie) and went to William’s Walk which is a walk to benefit the foundation for Retinal Research’s 5K event.  William is the nephew of my dear friend Elizabeth.  He was diagnosed with LCA at 5 1/2 months old.  If you are an American Idol fan that may sound familiar.  Scott MacIntyre is one of the final contestants on this season’ s show and also has LCA.  So we joined in with about 250 0thers for the walk.  We jogged a little of it, but I had my camera in tow so we walked the majority of it.

This past weekend was Emily’s wedding and I have been dying to post some of her bridals from a couple of weeks ago when I was in Statesboro, GA.  Emily and Adam’s wedding was held at Meinhardt Vineyard…it was not available for her bridal session but, John Marshall (a family friend and the owner of Marshall’s Farm) was kind enough to let us use his vineyard for the backdrop of Emily’s session.

This is my absolute favorite shot…and the one that Emily printed for her reception!…more pics of that to come soon!

I have to brag on myself a little… I made her bouquet!  hehehe
