Amy & Jonathan’s day was just so fun!  They have such a great group of friends and family that most of the time I was just capturing everyone being silly.  Amy’s day started at the fabulous Glaze Beauty Boutique & Day Spa in Rincon, GA!  All the bridesmaids came to have hair, makeup done as well as just some general pampering!  The ladies at Glaze were amazing and had a brunch complete with mimosa’s set up for Amy and her gals!  It was a great time of just chillin’ and an awesome place for me to take some photos of her details!  I totally suggest to any brides out there that are getting married in the Savannah, GA area to check this place out.  It was just perfect…. and I even got some cool sunglasses there!

Michael and Lauren’s story.  The first time that Lauren caught Michael’s eye was when he spotted (of all things) her feet!  It was love at first site! hahaha!  Michael did notice her pretty toes and then got to know what a lovely person Lauren is and now they are getting married!  I have had a blast getting to know this couple and Michael’s son Cooper!  The couple wanted some fun family pics as well as some romantics so we split up their session so that Coop could be in some.  So for the first part of their engagement session we started with Cooper at Wesleyan College.

Kari + Brian Engaged!

June 17th, 2009

Kari and Brian and I got together a few days ago for their engagement session.  We met up at Houston Lake Country Club to shoot the first part of their session out on the gorgeous greens that will be the back drop for their wedding day.  I was pumped to get to do a little exploring and take some causal romantic shots of the couple in the same place they will be tying the knot this fall.  On a typical date Kari and Brian will head to the golf course and Brian will golf while Kari drives the golf cart.  They were totally in their element.   Here are some of my favorite shots from their session.

I love this little dock overlooking beautiful Houston Lake.

Ashley & Beau tied the knot at the beautiful Tucker Plantation in Colbert, GA.  I had such a blast with this fun couple as you saw in their first look.… there was lots of personality to work with. Here is a preview of their day.

The rain held off for us and we got lots of outdoor photos. The clouds were fab!  Beautiful Tucker Plantation.

ashleybeau-11

Ashley and her girls got ready in the bridal suite in the barn where the ceremony and reception were held. The gorgeous exposed wood and cowboy gear totally set the mood.

Her dress was so light and airy!  It was really fun to play with in the blue sky shots.

ashleybeau-141

One of Ashely’s MOH’s Whitney added a special touch by sewing in a tag of Ashley’s initials into her dress.  Her something borrowed was a beautiful antique pendant that belonged to the grandmother of her bridesmaid Melinda.

ashleybeaucollage-9

Her flowers were just perfect too.  European Floral Design did an amazing job from the bouquets to the lovely arrangements at the ceremony and reception.

A cowboy and the rings.

ashleybeau-32

Ashely is a hair stylist and is part of a family of hairstylists.  She had lots of options when choosing what to do with her hair.  Her cousin, Joseph, did an incredible job keeping her hair looking perfect despite the rain.

ashleybeau-12

OH! I love her “something blue” shoes. Ashley wrote the names of her bridesmaids on the bottom of her shoes and the story goes… the bridesmaid’s name that scuffs off first is the next to get hitched.  I love that tradition and I actually did it with my bridesmaids at my own wedding and it totally worked! hehehe.

Reception Details.

I love her up-do with the white orchid in her hair…great job again .  Mama’s Boy cooked up some fried chicken and other southern fixens for dinner.  Of course the groom’s cake had something to do with golf.  Titleist cupcakes were a perfect touch.

ashleybeaucollage-4

The bride’s cake had love birds for a cake topper. The cake was a Cecilia Caramel cake….. if you are ever in Athens, GA she is the lady to see about a caramel cake.

ashleybeau-57

First Dance.

ashleybeau-67

My new trick.

ashleybeau-70

Ashely’s Papa gave the best wedding gift ever.  Ashley has always loved his corn bread and one year for Christmas he wrapped up a loaf and put it under the tree for her. …so it was fitting that he wrapped up a loaf for her wedding gift.

ashleybeau-69

Super Party DJ’s Ron Goss kept the dance floor full all night.  You can tell Beau was feelin’ it.

ashleybeau-71

I loooooove this shot Koutsunis got!!!

ashleybeau-76

When we snuck outside to take some blue sky photos Ashley’s dad was there with a present for the bride and groom.  He crafted this handmade swing of wood as a wedding gift.

Silas or as I like to call him Smile-as, is my cousin.  I grew up going to visit Silas, his 4 brothers, and 2 sisters that lived with his family on our grandfather’s farm in Smarr, GA.  My grandmother who I am named after (Evelyn Barnes) or as we called her Grandgie called the farm “Little Deer” and that is where Silas and Jill are going to live after they get hitched in August!  So the farm was the perfect place to shoot their engagement session.  I remember the first time I met Jill and just knew she was the perfect southern lady for Silas.  She grew up on a farm in Tifton, GA and is such a southern belle.  They are a perfect match…just check out those boots.  Welcome to the family Jill! Now onto some of the photos!

Yesterday I was in Savannah, GA photographing Amy & Jonathan’s wedding!  Their friends and family were a blast and even with the rain we had a blast! They are headed to Tahiti now. I will be posting a full preview of tier wedding soon, but for now here is their first look.  On the way from the church to the reception we stopped at Forsyth Park and took a couple of romantics!  I got this amazing shot with a little help from my sweet hubby/assistant Koutsunis! img_2737-edit

What an incredible veil…. and an incredible couple.  Thanks Amy and Jonathan and I hope you have an incredible honeymoon!

On May 16th Angel married her Airman Andy!  It was a honor to photograph such a sweet and loving couple.  Their day was filled with Angel’s creativity and  lots of personal touches.  The wedding took place at Pineola Farms and the Cotton Barn.  It is  a beautiful venue and I cannot say enough great things about Paul and Delise Knight.  They are a well oiled wedding machine and their assistant Jessica was my right hand gal.  You guys rocked!  I cannot wait to work with you again!  Ok, so onto the wedding preview.

The day started at Dempsey Salon for the ladies.  Jennifer Dempsey (jennifer@dempseysalon.com) did a fab job with all the ladies hair.  She even had little treats and an awesome set up for the girls to work on hair and makeup.

blog-2-of-15

Angel had a photo saved of their trial run.

blog-1-of-15

Then we headed to the farm. Here are some of the MANY details from the day!

angelandyc-1-of-5

As you can see the theme was a garden/farm style wedding; with lots of yellow and blue accents.  I especially loved her use of the old blue Mason jars.  Delise Knight is a talented florist and did an incredible job bringinAngel’s concepts together perfectly.   I still cannot get over the bride’s bouquet that was made of 19 Peonies wrapped carefully with two of Angel’s grandparent ’s handkerchiefs.   The little yellow flowers were just perfect and so unusual …they are called Billy Balls. (so cute )

angelandy-31-of-122

The dress and shoes.

angelandyc-4-of-5

With a little help from mom… Angel was picture perfect.

angelandy-16-of-122

angelandy-14-of-1222

Then just in time for the ceremony the clouds came out.

blog-12-of-15

We had to regroup for an indoor ceremony.  I was saying rain, rain go away and while we waited…The folks at Pineola took lemons and made lemonade.  Paul Knight collected some of the rain water in a jar and gave it to the bride and groom to save and use some day for their first child’s baptism.

angelandyc-2-of-5

So it was time to tie the knot Cotten Barn style.  Andy had an emotional moment as he saw his bride for the first time.
