Yesterday I was in a little slice of Italy hidden away in North, GA shooting my sweet cousin Lauren’s wedding.  Monteluce is a gorgeous vineyard hidden away near Dahlonega, GA. It was an incredible day, God gave us the perfect weather.  I cannot wait to post the whole preview, but here is a little first look for the bride and groom! Love you both Cliff and Lauren!  Oooopa!

Had to post one of Lauren… She was stunning!

Jill + Silas = the Peeds!

August 22nd, 2009

Jill and Silas’s wedding was a perfect representation of these two crazy kids!  Silas is my cousin, and I remember the first time I met Jill and knew she was the perfect fit for him.  I am so glad to welcome Jill to our family.  I cannot wait to have y’all over for dinner.  Well, I knew I was gonna have a blast with them and they did not disappoint.  It was another HOT summer day, but they were troopers and we got a bunch of awesome outside shots.   The wedding and reception was held at my church, historic First Presbyterian Church in downtown Macon, GA.  So onto their preview.999_0001

Jill’s lacey dress was gorgeous.   Shout out to Silas’s two sister’s Rebekah and Susanna for helping me with the hanging of the dress.

999_0002

Jill went barefoot on her wedding day, but she brought along the cowboy boots that she inherited from her Daddy.  She wore them on her engagement shoot, and also at the end of her wedding day when she when she ran though the bird seed.   I enjoyed using her boots to show off their rings.

The Veil.

999_0004

Allison Lucas (along with Nector and Company)did another fabulous job with Jill’s flowers.  They were simply perfect.  More wedding details, including Jill’s garter that her mom made her.

999_0005

Jill is a beautiful bride.

Again, the flowers were perfect.  They almost looked like the lace on Jill’s dress.

Jill and Silas shared a hug on the front porch of the church after becoming man and wife.

999_0038

I don’t usually post family formals on my blog but I thought this one was funny.  Thanks to Jill’s sister, Julee Beth for taking it for me.  You have mad skills!

My HUGE Family!  And there are actually a lot of people missing!

999_0042

999_0041

The Fancy Pig of Pig in a Pitt catered the reception.  It was so yum. What can I say, mac and cheese, potato salad, pulled pork, and BBQ chicken, oh my! Oh and more of Allison’s amazing floral designs.

999_0043

My bf Elizabeth made the Bride’s cakes.  Its her second time making a wedding cake and she has some skills I see a future there. There were three of them.  She made a key lime cake, and regular wedding cake, and a strawberry cake.

999_0044Silas is not a big cake guy, but he loves Klondike bars.  The perfect Groom’s cake.

So Silas……………

What would ya dooo-ooo-oooo for a Klondike bar?

999_0045

The cake details.

Get it boy!

999_0049

Two of Silas’ nephew’s really enjoyed the Klondike bars.

999_0051

Now these people are some dancing fools!

999_0053

999_0054

Oh and one of my favorite details of thier wedding was “the Seed for the Peeds” and “the Seeds from the Peeds.”

Silas has his own landscape company.  So they had the perfect favor if wildflower seeds from the Peeds. And they ran through bird seed.  It was so cute!

999_0056

Oh did I mention that Jill’s maiden name is Dunn.  That’s right Jill Dunn Peed.  I am sure that had already gotten old….come on people.

999_0057

In true Silas fashion he had a buck knife on hand to handle the popping of all the baloons that fell out of their getaway car.

999_0058

The send off!

999_0059

Thanks to the Dunns, the Peeds, and all the rest of the friends and family for such a fun time.  I don’t think I have ever seen so many people break it down in the church fellowship hall!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABERS!

August 20th, 2009

Today is our 4 year anniversary!  I know, I know what were we thinking getting married in August!  It was the HOTTEST wedding I have ever been to…. and I have been to a lot!  It was such a wonderful day surrounded by my closest friend and family … and it was the beginning of a wonderful marriage.  We are so blessed to have the little life that we do, and I thank God for giving me a godly man who lives with me in such an understanding way. Koutsunis I love you and thank you for keeping me laughing and loving me!  A couple of weeks ago Koutsunis and I got together with my brother Chris and his wife for a little romantic shoot.  Ava and I are both photographers and we wanted some pics with our men so here are a couple that Ava got of me and my babers!

If you want to see a couple of more I posted them on my facebook. here.

I also want to give a shoutout to my mom and dad for celebrating their 35 year anniversary on Monday the 17th of August!  I know how rare it is to have parents who are still in love.  Thank you for being an example of marriage!

Love,

Jenny Evelyn Barnes Prater

Lauren and Michael’s wedding day was the perfect outdoor summer wedding.  It was a beautiful and sunny, and it was Not 105 degrees!  It was a little hot, but hey it is July in south Georgia.  God sent a nice summer breeze and they had a fabulous day!  The wedding was held at beautiful Pineola Farms.  Every time that I photograph there it is such a unique event.  So now for Lauren & Michael’s unique wedding!  Here is their wedding preview.

The Cotton Barn in all its glory…oh my that sky!

laurenm_0001

Lauren’s colors were pink and orange and the colors were all over her details.

laurenm_0002

Delise (one of the owners of Pineola) let me know that there was a crepe myrtle that was hot pink and in full bloom… it was the perfect place for a dress shot!  I love it!

laurenm_0003

Some more of the dress and the bridal attire.  Michael’s tan suit was dashing.

laurenm_0005

Melanie of Renaissance Plastic Surgery (where  Lauren works) brought along our favorite girl Jane Iredale (you know the makeup)  Lauren was looking HOT!

0119-72509-lauren-matt-wedThe back of her dress was just beautiful.

laurenm_0006

Lauren was a ravishing bride.

laurenm_0007

The flowers were so colorful.  Somehow, Delise always manages to sneak in some really interesting flowers into the mix.

laurenm_0008

This was by far one of my favs of Lauren. She is just dreamy.

laurenm_0009

laurenm_0010

Love this one too.

laurenm_0011

Michael, the handsome groom.

laurenm_0012

Pretty in pink…or is it handsome in pink… whatever he totally rocks it.

laurenm_0013

Cooper, Michael’s son, was having a blast hamming it up for the camera.

laurenm_0014

Like I said the colors were pink and orange and Delise Knite did a fabulous job with all the floral arrangements.

laurenm_0015

Rings!

laurenm_0016

Lauren and Michael decided to see each other before their ceremony so that they would have extra time for photos.  So I set up a private moment for the couple to see each other for the first time on their wedding day.  It was such a sweet moment.  As Lauren prepared to make her way into the pecan grove to meet her future husband, all of the emotions of the day washed over her and she took a moment to take it all in.

laurenm_0017

Michael was delighted to see his bride.

The perfect smooch.

laurenm_0028

laurenm_0029

laurenm_0030

Cooper was almost as excited as Michael was to see the bride.

laurenm_0031

What a lovely group of people.

laurenm_0033

laurenm_0034

Coop was quite the ladies man…and he was LOVIN’ every second.

laurenm_0035

Ceremony time and Lauren’s dad was ready to take her down the aisle.

laurenm_0036

The bell was rung at the beginning of the ceremony to honor Lauren and Michael’s grandparents that are no longer with us.

laurenm_0037

Instead of saying their vows in front of their friends and family, Lauren and Micahael said their vows in the middle of their guests.  In the “Circle of Love.”

laurenm_0038

My favorite part of the ceremony was when Lauren repeated the vows that Michael was supposed to take.  She said “I take you Lauren….” and then everyone burst into laughter!  It was priceless!

laurenm_0039

The couple did a sand ceremony and included Coooper in the ceremony to signify there new family.

laurenm_0040

I think he thought it was pretty cool.

laurenm_0041

I had to put a pic of this little bee in the blog preview.  He decided he loved the bride too… or maybe he just loved her flowers but he hung out with us for all the the family photos.

laurenm_0042

Some more sunshiny goodness!

laurenm_0043

Now onto the reception and my favorite part…the cakes!  Amanda at Karen Holliman Cakes did an incredible job with the cakes! Yummy!

laurenm_0044

There were 42 days left until GA football was back from their wedding day.

laurenm_0045

All the food was deeeelish… Carter’s Catering out of Adel GA always brings the goodies.  BBQ and shrimp my favorites! They also catered Micha and Ryan’s wedding back in May.  I love getting to work with such talented people!

laurenm_0046

Michael and Lauren surprised their guests and road off from the reception on Michael’s Club car.  It was the perfect touch to their exit.

laurenm_0047

Even though their wedding was over before sundown Lauen really really wanted some blue sky romantics so we hung out for a little while and waited for sundown and it was totally worth the wait.  I don’t think that she will be disappointed!  I just looooove the last one the most… so romantic!

laurenm_0048

laurenm_0049laurenm_0050

laurenm_0051

A super big thanks to Lauren and Michael (and Cooper) for having me be part of your day.  I feel so honored to have gotten to know you over the past months and cannot wait to show you the rest of your images!

“What ya say about me and you, riding along on a bicycle build for two?”  “I don’t want to ride with anyone else!”

Steven gave Lauren a tandem bike for her birthday along with a song he wrote for her! I got to photograph their wedding yesterday and I wanted to post a first look of the couple looking sweet upon their seat of a bicycle built for two.

Meet Carolina (Caro-leen-a) and Matt.  When  Carolina first called me I found out that she lives in a duplex only 3 houses down from my parent’s house… How crazy is that?  They are such a sweet romantic couple.  I got together with them down in my hometown of Statesboro, GA for their engagement session.  We started their shoot at the Georgia Southern Botanical Gardens.  The grounds are just gorgeous and the perfect place to photograph this romantic couple.

So for the second part of their session, we headed over to the Statesboro airport.  Believe it or not… I grew up in the ‘boro and I have never been to the Statesboro airport.  Matt is actually quite a pilot.  He proposed to Carolina shortly after did his first solo flight.

en-0118

He took her to the air…. needless to say she was a bit nervous to go up in the plane with him.  While flying around, suddenly, he tossed her a map and said “we’re lost!”  She frantically opened it to find out  where they were.  The map read in RED ink ” Carolina will you marry me?” Hot glued next to the words was a diamond engagement ring!!! She said “Yes!”

en-0127After shooting some romantics on the tarmac…. Matt arranged for all of us to go up in one of the planes with an instructor.  I was so pumped!

On Saturday I got to photography my cousin Silas’ wedding.  His wife Jill and I have become friends over the last couple of years and I was so honored to get to be part of their big day!  Jill had lots of cute details, but one of my favorites was how she embraced her new last name Peed.  She and Silas gave all their guests a little bag of wildflower seeds as their wedding favor.  Each bag had a tag that said “Seeds from the Peeds.”  Then for their birdseed send off there was a sign that read “Seeds for the Peeds”   Sooo Cute!  Here are the Peeds being pelted with seeds!

peed-first-lookThere will be a bigger preview to come so check back!
