Sarah & Brant

October 29th, 2009

Sarah, oh Sarah I am so excited that I get to photograph your wedding! Sarah is a kindred spirit because she is also a P.K. (preacher’s kid), like me.  I met Sarah years ago and last year she was a bridesmaid in one of my weddings.  She has found her one and only and so it’s her turn to take the spot light.  She and Brant met though work and even with the long distance it was an instant connection.  They were both in Macon a couple of weeks ago for wedding planning so we squeezed in their engagement session between their premarital counseling and Sarah’s dress fitting.  It was a blast and I am glad that I finally got to spend some time with Brant and see first hand what an awesome guy he is.  Ok, ok onto their engagement session.  We started with a nature vibe.

By FAR…one of my absolute favorites.  All that sunshiney goodness!

Then we headed downtown for the second part of their session.  Since Sarah and Brant live in different cities they spent a lot of their relationship flying back and forth from Atlanta, GA to Dallas,TX.  I hope one day they look back at these fun images and remember the romance and excitement of seeing each other after weeks apart and hours of travel!  Btw, Sarah knows how to work a red suitcase and shoes! Adorable!

Kari & Brian’s Wedding!

October 26th, 2009

Hello there blog readers!  I have been soooo busy with work and work and um work! I am so honored to be a part of all of my clients’ lives and especially honored to have been part of Kari and Brian’s big day!  I am sorry it has taken me so long to post this blog.  I have been dying to show you some more of the images from your wedding.  It was so beautiful!  We were worried about rain and of course it was an outside wedding…but the weather ended up being pretty much perfect for the couple.  Laney Puckett at Houston Lake Country Club did an incredible job with the set up, catering, and just keeping the ball rolling smoothly.  Also, I got to work with the fab Kevin Nickels of DKH entertainment who not only did all the music for the ceremony, but he and his handy assistant Kristen kept the dance floor rockin’ all night! Ok, so onto the wedding preview!!  Here is Kari having her makeup done by the fab Valerie Rankin.jennyevelyn_00012

Kari’s dress was absolutely perfect for her….and her artsy mother actually made her waistband that accented her wedding dress! She also made the flower girls basket and the ring bearer’s pillow! Incredible!

jennyevelyn_00022

Shoe-ez.

jennyevelyn_00032

Flowers by Helen did a beautiful job with the flowers.  I absolutely love the texture of the tulips mixed in with the roses.

Absolute fav from the day!

jennyevelyn_00351jennyevelyn_00361

Kevin with DKH made a special monogram for the dance floor, and the lighting was perfect for the red and black color palette of the wedding.

jennyevelyn_00371jennyevelyn_00391

Carolyn Heitt did a great job with the cakes.  I think they got more on their faces than they ate!

jennyevelyn_00401

The father/daughter dance was very emotional.

jennyevelyn_00411

Check out the jump from Kari’s MOH when she caught the bouquet.  I think she was kinda pumped!

One Year Aniversary!!!!

October 21st, 2009

God has been so good and has way surpassed all of my dreams for the past year.  I really cannot believe it has been a year (actually over a year) since Koutsunis and I started Jenny Evelyn Photography!  Our first official wedding was on September 27, 2008 last year and it was Chrissy and JP’s big day!  I feel like it just happen and now it is over a year later and I am soooooo busy! Even with the busyness of life and of running a company we are making time to celebrate and really to thank you for all your support!  I know that I would not be where I am today if it was not for all of my amazing clients.  Thank you especially to my brides that fought for me when I was starting out…you know who you are!  It has been such a crazy ride and I cannot wait to see where God takes me in the next year!  Soooo If you are around tomorrow evening and you have the time to stop by our house to help us celebrate please do.  Here is the little invite that I came up with!inivte-j

Here are some of my fav pics of Koutsunis and me from the past year!

On another note…..One of my goals was to get into the magazine Southern Weddings.  And this Monday I got an email from Southern Weddings and guess what!?  They are publishing one of my images in the November 2009 edition!  Here is the shot!

999-1099

Again, Like I said….God has way surpassed all of my hopes and expectations.  I would have never believed that I would have made so many friends and that I get to tell your stories.  Y’all are such amazing people that have entered my life and that believe in me….. THANK YOU, THANK YOU,  THANK YOU!!!!!!  Thank you to my friends for still being there for me and still inviting me over even when you know I have weekends booked with weddings, thank you to my family for being my biggest fans and for your prayers and loving me though all this craziness, and mostly thank you to my sweet, sweet husband for being my amazing second shooter/assistant and giving me the support and encouragement to chase my dreams.  I love you babers and I would not be the photographer I am today if it were not for you!

To God be all glory & honor,

Jenny Evelyn Prater

Carolina and Matt’ s wedding was such a sweet occasion.  Koutsunis and I headed down to my hometown of Statesboro, GA for their big day.  Not only did I get to shoot a fabulous wedding, but I got to see my family as well…it was the best!  The day started really early at the Split Ends Salon.  Stefanie Slater did a fab job with Carolina’s hair.  I love getting the pic of how crazy it looks when they start out.

jennyevelyn_0001

Carolina’s veil was cathedral length and lined with a gorgeous lace.  I took advantage of it when we were doing her bridals.  I posted one that LOVE in her first look here.

jennyevelyn_0002

Then we headed over to the Brannen House at the Statesboro Inn where Carolina got into her dress. First we had to get a dress shot.  I love all the lace!  Oh and her shoes were J.crew, the bride’s fav!

jennyevelyn_0003

jennyevelyn_0004

When Carolina’s daddy saw her for the first time words could not capture the emotion.

jennyevelyn_0005Here are a few of my favorite bridals!  This first one is at the Statesboro Inn.

jennyevelyn_0006

Then we headed across the street to Statesboro’s First Methodist Church where the ceremony took place.

jennyevelyn_0008

She has some incredible lashes!

jennyevelyn_0007

The inside of the church is gorgeous.  I have not been inside of it since one of my best friends got married there almost ten years ago!

jennyevelyn_0010

jennyevelyn_0009

Matt was looking very handsome!

jennyevelyn_0012

I had a little help from Carolina’s sister and MOH for this shot, Thanks Susanna!

jennyevelyn_0013

All of the lovely ladies.

jennyevelyn_0014

Mrs Jan Williams (a friend of the family) did a fabulous job with Carolina’s flowers.  The bride carries a sweet bouquet of lily of the valley and her MOH and honorary bridesmaids carried yellow roses.

jennyevelyn_0011

The men folk!  And this is one of my favorite jumps simply because of that canon ball!

Married!

jennyevelyn_0033

The reception was held at Forest Heights Country Club.  The theme of the reception was travel.  Carolina and Matt actually met on a missions trip that they took with First Methodist and travel has always been a big part of their relationship.  So when the guests arrived at the reception they found their seats by the luggage tags that told them which table they were assigned to.

jennyevelyn_0034

Then on each table there was a sign that told about a place that Carolina and Matt had both traveled to either together or separately and the sign told their guests a little fun fact about them being in that city.

jennyevelyn_0035

The bride’s cake

jennyevelyn_0036

jennyevelyn_0037

The top of the grooms cake was made by Lisa Shepley of Lisa Mae Cakes.  She is such a sugar artist.  If you did not already know, Matt is a pilot and actually proposed to Carolina up in the air,  you can see some shots of us up in the air from their engagement session ***HERE***

jennyevelyn_0038

The bride and groom had a string quartet at both the wedding and at the reception.

jennyevelyn_0039

After the dinner we snuck outside to take a couple of more romantics out on the golf course.

jennyevelyn_0042

jennyevelyn_0043

jennyevelyn_0044jennyevelyn_0041

They had a really special get away car.  Mr.  Grady was one of Carolina’s clients at the bank.  He brought his bright yellow model A and drove the couple off but only……after they ran through wands tied with yellow ribbons that were waved to wish them well.  That is a lot of W’s hu ? hahaha!  Every guest also got to take home a bottle of BBQ sauce that is Matt’s grandfather’s secret family recipe.

jennyevelyn_0045

Love Carolina’s cute yellow dress. So bright and happy!

jennyevelyn_0046

A little help getting in.

jennyevelyn_0047

As they drove off it just started to sprinkle with the sun still shining. There is nothing like a little extra good luck like rain on a wedding day.

jennyevelyn_0048

Thank you to Carolina & Matt and your friends and family for having us as part of your special day.  It was a joy to witness the beginning of such a sweet marriage.  May God bless you for many many many years!

Its finally here!  Last year when I first started my company Margeaux was one of the first brides to book me…and yesterday her wedding was finally here!  It was just as perfect as she planned it would be and I was honored to be a part of their special day.  It has been fun to watch Margeaux blog about her wedding for the past year on her blog called “What a Diamond Can Do” and I will miss seeing her updates, but I know she will keep blogging all the fun that marriage brings on her personal blog “ Note to Self “.  I cannot wait to post their whole wedding preview in the next couple of weeks, but for now here is their first look.

The beautiful bride having her Carrie Bradshaw moment! Check out her shoes!

Its Fall at my House…

October 2nd, 2009

Thanks to Carmen with Nectar & Company it is officially Autumn at my house.  Carmen came over along with the fabulous florist, Allison Lucas and they worked their magic for a photo shoot of my front door!  Well actually the shoot just happen to have my front door in it.  The shoot was actually of an incredible wreath that Carmen designed herself.  Not only did she design it, but it is going to be in the November issue of Southern Living Magazine! Our shoot was not for the magazine, but for Carmen’s how to kit that will be posted on her blog.    First of all, here is a shot of my front door all decked out!

nectar-co-0011

Now some information about this increadible wreath!

‘Dolce Crème Brulee’ Heuchera Living Wreaths

nectar-co-0021

Nectar & Company will start selling them online October 25th at www.nectarandcompany.com

The kit includes:

1. A bag of dirt

2. 24” wreath form with a liner

3. 28 ‘Dolce Crème Brulee’ (plugs) little baby plants

Dolce Crème Brulee’ is a perennial with brown sugar foliage…the color gets richer and deeper as it gets colder…loves the sun or the shade and with stand temps of -25 degrees so it is a great wreath for all year round.  Easy to take care of…drought tolerant, pet friendly…and deer resistant… only needs to be watered once a week once established and remove dead and brown leaves every two weeks!!!

Here is my house again…Kensie was pretty happy about being one of the stars.

nectar-co-0007

Thanks so much Carmen for making my house looks so fabulous!  I cannot wait to get my wreath on Oct 25th!  Be sure to check out Carmen’s blog ***HERE***

Avery is a sweet Georgia Peach and Ryan is a California boy.  They are the perfect match and when planning their wedding they picked Avery’s hometown of Milledgeville, GA for the wedding.  The Lockerly Arboretum was the perfect venue for a wedding with southern style.  So now for Avery and Ryan’s wedding preview!  The day started for the gals at Charmed Spa in downtown Milledgeville, GA.  Carrolle Mayfield  did a fabulous job getting Avery’s hair into curls.
