Amy & Mike EN

November 30th, 2009

Amy & Mike are such a fun couple and I knew as soon as I met Amy that we would be friends!  Originally we were going to have their puppies along for part of their shoot, but their pug was sick and got the cone! So we decided to go ahead and make their session all about them.  Here are some of my favs from their session.

Even though it is fall, we took advantage of this beautiful tree that was full of blossoms and dropping petals… it gave us a springy feel to the session! Oh and doesn’t her ring just ROCK!

Margeaux & Doug’s wedding was so amazing!  Margeaux has been planning and blogging about the process for the past year on her wedding blog (here) and finally the day is here!  And it was a perfect day.  The weather was wonderful and everyone looked beautiful.  We really had a blast photographing this couple.  It was  a day to celebrate two wonderful people as they start their new life together.  The theme of the wedding was “All because two people fell in love”  That statement really wraps up the feel of the whole day.  It was truly a wonderful experience. Onto the wedding preview.

With the help of Dawn Brose of A Hair Sensation, Margeaux’s hair was just perfect.copeland_0001copeland_0003

One of Margeaux’s bridesmaids, Colby, is also a blogger and posted an incredible post about her gal Margeaux’s wedding. You can read it here.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful Vineville Baptist Church in Macon, GA.

copeland_0004

The Dress! Ahhhhh! (opera singer)

copeland_0006

The fabulous Carmen Johnston of Nectar & Company along with Allison Lucas did an incredible job with Margeaux’s flowers.  They are truly artists and continue to amaze me at every wedding they do.  I love all the unique orchids and other flowers that were in the mix.  It was really fun to photograph.

copeland_0007

Just a couple of the floral details.  The blue rose brooch that Margeaux had on her flowers is the symbol for police wives.

copeland_0008

Getting into the gown with the help of her mama and her incredible coordinator Jayne Sawyer Smith (478)737-8921.

copeland_0009copeland_0010

From her Stewart Wietzman RED Shoes to her handmade police inspired garters that she found on Etsy, the personal touches resonated throughout the day.

copeland_0011

Right before we started taking the formal pics Margeaux got a note from her soon to be husband telling her where they were going for their honeymoon. Vegas Baby, Vegas!  Woo hoo!

copeland_0012

The gorgeous bride.

copeland_0013copeland_0014copeland_0015

We took advantage of some of the amazing stained glass.

copeland_0016copeland_0017

The girls channeling their inner Charlies’ Angels.

copeland_0018

A couple more of my favs of Margeaux.

copeland_0019copeland_0020

Like any good policeman, Doug was packing heat.

copeland_0021

and looking handsome.

copeland_0022

WARNING THIS IS A JOKE!!!!!   This group of guys has been in some weddings with some BAD wedding photographers….they showed me some of the CHEEZIEST pics they have taken.

copeland_0023

We did get to photograph the guys with a police unit.

copeland_0024

Right before the ceremony Margeaux and her dad shared a few sweet moments.

copeland_0025

Waiting to see his lovely bride.

copeland_0026

She lost the veil on the way down the aisle, but she moved on with grace and poise.

copeland_0027copeland_0028copeland_0029

What a beautiful ceremony.

copeland_0030copeland_0031copeland_0032

Doug’s grandfather Dr. Paul Camp officiated the ceremony.

What a handsome couple.

copeland_0039copeland_0040copeland_0041

The reception took place at the Library Ballroom in downtown Macon, GA.  Bobby Jo Carver (478-935-2793 & bobbiejocarver@cox.net) did a fabulous job with the yummy foods and the amazing bride’s and groom’s cakes. I thought the his and hers coozies were a nice little touch too.

copeland_0042

First Dance.

copeland_0043copeland_0044

All the guests feasting.

copeland_0045

Again, Carmen and Allison blew us all away with the decor at the ballroom.

copeland_0046

The beautiful brides cake.

copeland_0047

They were even able to put their theme on the wall!

copeland_0048copeland_0049

Doug’s grandmother was an awesome photographer. I know she had to get some amazing dance shots.

copeland_0050

Keith Williams and his crew kept the tunes a-flowin’.

copeland_0051

Nice toss!

copeland_0053

More dancing.

copeland_0054

The guys stepped outside for a cigar break.

copeland_0055

I love this shot K got.  My angle was posted on their first look.

copeland_0056

More romantics outside at twilight.

copeland_0057

We took advantage of the Grand Opera House’s new marquee.

copeland_0060

Guns and Roses.  What else can I say?

copeland_0061

Thanks so much Margeaux and Doug for having me as your wedding photographer and giving me the opportunity to capture the sweet memories of your day.  I really had a blast hanging out with your friends and families and getting to share in your joy and love.  I know you will have many, many years of love and happiness.

Lea & Dom’s Engagement

November 1st, 2009

Lea and Dom know how to work their connections.  They are both BIG Georgia Southern football people(GO EAGLES), so it was perfect that they were able to get into Paulson Stadium for part of their engagement shoot.    Not only did we get to shoot at Paulson Stadium, but they also had a friend put their Save the Date info on the score board.  It will make for some amazing Save the Date cards.  Now that is what I call VIP treatment! So onto their engagement session.

Here is the lovely couple.

Dom is always cracking Lea up…so fun.

leadom-0010

Here are a couple of their “Save the Date” options.  Their wedding is on March 27, 2010 at 6:00pm.

leadom-0029Check out the ring Dom gave Lea! Beautiful!

Some more cuteness!

leadom-0055leadom-0060

I love this one of Lea peeking over Dom’s head.

leadom-0066leadom-0069

It was really fun shooting in an empty stadium.   I remember when I was a little kid going to the football games with my daddy after my morning soccer games and riding down that hill in the background on cardboard boxes!  I never thought I would get the opportunity to photograph such a fun couple there.

leadom-0080

Dom being silly again!

A few more of my favs.
