Hi there,  It’s Jenny back with another awesome wedding to share with you.  I have gotten a little behind on blogging, so please bear with me!  Lots of weddings back to back, ’tis the season!  I am so excited to share Amy & Mike’s wedding with you now!  The day was a wonderful reflection of this couple’s commitment as well as their family, culture and personalities.  I had a blast working with some of my favorite wedding vendors.  Carmen Johnston with Nectar and Co. did an incredible job with Amy’s Filipino inspired florals & decor.  Kevin Nichols with DKH Entertainment kept the party hoppin’ at the Armory Ballroom.  Teddi Wohlford made lots of tasty goodies.  Amanda’s Cakery fed our sweet tooth with cake.  Foley Productions created an amazing highlight clip of their videography you can see by clicking HERE.  Ok so now onto the awesome photo goodness!

The ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

blog_00014

Amy wore two dresses for her day!  Her ceremony dress was actually her mother’s dress that was handmade in the Philippines.  Her reception dress, or dancing dress as I like to call it was from David’s Bridal.

blog_00034

The detachable hand beaded train made the dress.  It was just perfect in St. Jo’s.

blog_00044

Some of the bridal details.

blog_00024

Amy’s MOH, also a Jenny, helped her into the dress.

blog_00054blog_00064

And a few bridals.  I was in love with Amy’s bird cage veil.

blog_00134blog_00144

We shot their first look in the courtyard.

Just a few tears were shed.

blog_00214blog_00223blog_00233blog_00243blog_00253

I snagged these three shots in the ladies bathroom right before the ceremony they are three of my favs of Amy.  Sometimes the most unlikely places are perfect for a bridal.

blog_00263blog_00272blog_00281

The wedding bling.

blog_00291

A few ceremony details including the unity coins that are part of the traditional Filipino wedding tradition.  The ring bearer carried the coins and then the priest blessed them to symbolize the couple commitment to mutually support and share the responsibilities of their marriage and family.

blog_00301

Amy’s daddy took her down to the altar as the choirs of St. Joseph’s serenaded them down the aisle.

blog_00311blog_00322blog_00331

It is really one of the most beautiful churches in Macon, GA.

blog_00341blog_00351

Vows.

blog_00361blog_00371blog_00381

Another part of the Filipino wedding tradition that they incorporated is the “Placing of the Veil” that symbolizes the Lord’s presence to protect the couple from sorrow and harm that could break the foundation of their marriage.  Then there was the “Placing of the Cord” that symbolizes the eternal bond that the couple has sworn to respect.  I love the cultural  take that their customs displayed in honoring their marriage vows.

blog_00391blog_00401blog_00411blog_00421

Married!

blog_00431

We took a quick shot right after the ceremony of the newlyweds with all of their wedding guests in front of the church!

blog_00441blog_00451

Then over the the Armory Ballroom to celebrate the couple and their new marriage.  Amy’s Filipino vibe was perfect! Her wedding coordinator, Jessica Stadtmiller (478.957.3658)  really kept things running smoothly for the reception.

blog_00461

Some of the reception details included Hershey’s Kisses, fans, lots and lots of orchids, paper lanterns, and a unity candle.  Amy even found a Filipino bride for her cake topper.

blog_00471

Amy and Mike made quite the entrance into their reception. I love the spot light DKH provided for extra dramatic effect!

All the yummy tasty food by Teddy Wohlford with Culinary Creations.

blog_00551blog_00561

There was lots and lots of dancing.  This group could really boogie down.

blog_00571

During the reception Amy and Mike snuck off with me for a little alone time and a few extra romantics.

blog_00581

I love this series and I also posted a few from this shoot in their first look HERE.

blog_00591blog_00601blog_00611blog_00621

I love this shot.  Amy has a tiny heart tattoo on her wrist.

blog_00631blog_00641blog_00651blog_00661

I also had to break in my Polaroid 600 at this wedding.  I will have to post a couple of the scanned images in another post.

blog_00671

I just could not get enough of that perfect window light.

blog_00681blog_00691

The last dance will go down as one of my favorite last dances EVER.  The whole group joined in along with Whitney Houston singing “I will Always Love You”

blog_00701blog_00711

As they exited only Amy would stop to pop a bubble!  I just love this couple.

blog_00721

Thanks so much for having me as part of your day!  It was such an honor to witness your vows and celebrate along side of your friends and family as you start your marriage.  I can’t wait to share more of the memories of  your day with you!

I am still recovering from Sarah and Toby’s awesome wedding yesterday!  I just had to get a first look up for them today before the leave for the secret honeymoon destination!  I just love these shots of the couple.  Sarah is often referred to as  McCranie by friends and so since yesterday was her last day as an official McCranie I wanted to post her monogram pics!  Have fun being a Layson now!

img_4841img_4860img_4863

One last one of the lovely couple!

img_4439Thanks again Sarah & Toby and to your friends and family for having me along to document your special day!  I really had so much fun, and I am so glad we all made it through the heat unscathed!

Woooo hooo! Have fun on your honeymoon!

Love, Jenny Evelyn

I met Ashley and Tim a few months ago through a mutual buddy of ours and knew I would be friends with them both right away.  They are such a laid back fun couple, the kind you can just chill with.  When we got to planning their engagement session they told me that they love to plan outdoor adventures and since they are both from Macon they had been to the Prado before on a date so we all thought it would be a perfect exploration for their session.  It is one of those “Macon Places” that you know about if you grew up here, and I have been wanting to shoot there so Ashley and Tim were the perfect match!   We got there after a short hike and a few bug bites, but a tick check was mandatory after our adventure.  Enjoy the preview!

blog_00013

We had to consult a map!

blog_00023blog_00033blog_00043

So I am told that this was a place where monks lived years ago.  There is still a fireplace in the bottom part and it looks like people have used it recently.

blog_00053

We had a little fun with the arches.

blog_00063

I couldn’t help myself!   I just had to!

blog_00113

They are just too cute.

blog_00073blog_00083blog_00093blog_00103

I love the matching shades. blog_00123blog_00133blog_00143

I love this series of Tim and Ashley just chillin’ in the grass.

blog_00153

p.s. Tim, your beard is awesome!

blog_00163

Oh girl, those are some lashes.

blog_00173blog_00183blog_00193

I had to post an up-close shot of Ashley’s vintage art deco engagement ring.  Stunning!

blog_00203

After a little break, and a wardrobe change we headed downtown to finish up the session under the Grand Opera House’s entrance.  Tim works for the company that did all the neon work on its new sign so he really wanted some shots that showed off their work.

blog_00213

Ashley was rockin’ some killer heals.

blog_00222

They are One Thrilling Combination!

blog_00232blog_00242blog_00252

Tim got a little lesson from me on “the dip”!

blog_00262blog_00271

Thanks Tim and Ashley for such a fun session!  I hope you enjoy your photos as much as I do!  To see all of Tim and Ashley’s awesomeness of an engagement session click ***HERE***

Christina and Sam are such a sweet couple and I had a blast photographing their engagement session a couple of weeks ago.  They wanted to shoot down at the water front park here in Macon because when they first started dating they spent a lot of time there together.  It was a beautiful sunny and not too blazing hot day so we had an awesome session.  Sam is also a proud member of the US Air Force so since he is going for more of a casual look for the wedding day we took some pics of the couple with Sam in his blues.  I hope you enjoy the preview! blog_00012blog_00022blog_00032blog_00042

They both have such pretty eyes!

blog_00052

Christina is really such a doll.

blog_00062blog_00072blog_00082blog_00092

The couple is getting married at beautiful Pineola Farm in the fall and they are going with a wheat theme so we had to take a couple of engagement photos that tie into the look of their wedding.  We were so lucky to stumble upon this tall wheat grass.

blog_00102blog_00112blog_00122blog_00132

I don’t think this was the first time they smooched on this bench!

blog_00142blog_00152blog_00162blog_00172blog_00182

I am so in love how these turned out they are just so timeless.

blog_00212

Love the hat too!

blog_00221blog_00231

Isn’t there just something about a man in uniform?

blog_00241blog_00251

I especially love the couple of shots I took with my Polaroid 600.  Now that’s  vintage.

blog_00261

Thanks so much Sam and Christina for having me as your wedding photographer I have really enjoyed getting to know you both, and I cant wait for the wedding day!  To see all Christina and Sam’s engagement photos click ***HERE***

Alex and John’s wedding was amazing yesterday, and despite the southern heat we made it though the day without a glitch.  I had to post this shots are part of their first look, John is known for wearing mis-matched socks so for his wedding day his bride gave him a pair of coordinating wedding socks. lol.

Such a sweet couple!

So I have purposely been waiting to post this wedding for business reasons so don’t think I forgot to share Donna and Jason’s planned Scotland elopement with you! I have actually being dying to share it with you!   Have you ever heard of such a cool idea…planned elopement!?!  Sooo romantic.  I love this idea, so let me know if you want to do it too!  I have actually known Donna since high school and never even thought I would be shooting her wedding in Scotland!  She was originally planning on Charleston, SC where she and Jason live, but the more the planning got crazy the more they wanted to do something that was more their style.  Jason is a pilot, and he and Donna both love to travel; so after a little research they got in contact with Kimmy at Litu (Leave it to us) I just love the name!  She took the planning over from there.  The wedding was held on March 31 at the Dalhousie Castle right outside of Edinburgh, Scotland.  I also shared a long first look of the wedding while we were in Scotland , so check that out but this is the full preview!

When we arrived in Edinburgh, there was an unexpected early spring snow storm.  Here is a shot of Dalhousie.

blog_00012

While getting ready in the Mary Queen of Scots suite, I got a shot of Donna’s lace dress was a Pronovias by Manuel.

blog_0002

Some other bridal details like her veil and shoes by Martinez Valero.

blog_0003

Kimmy and her husband run Litu together and gave the bride and groom a traditional Scottish wedding gift of the Highland Quaich.  Here are some more of the bride’s details like her other bridal shoes…her Hunter wellies.

blog_0004blog_0005

Donna looking radiant in some amazing tower window light!  Love it! That’s right I said tower!

blog_0006blog_0007

Andrew, the piper, came and greeted the bride and thanked her for bringing love and celebration to the castle, then he escorted her down to the chapel where her groom awaited her.   Jason was so dear he got so choked up!  tear.

blog_0008blog_0009blog_0010

Such a sweet ceremony.

blog_0011blog_0012

Kimmy and her husband George were the only people watching besides Koutsunis and me.

blog_0015

The vicar did an incredible job explaining the importance of the covenant of marriage and meaning of their marriage vows, he also added in a little Scottish humor.

blog_0022blog_0023blog_0024blog_0025blog_0026

Right after the ceremony it was time for the signing of the marriage license and guess what?  I had the distinguished honor of being one of the formal witnesses!  It was so sweet of Donna to have me as her witness.  It really made me feel so special to be part of their day!

blog_0027

K took this shot of us celebrating afterward!

blog_0028blog_0029

Then Andrew the piper escorted the happy couple out to a reception of cocktails and other surprises.

blog_0030

Litu arranged for drinks and a mini wedding cake made out of thistle petit fours for the couple to cut.

blog_0031

Andrew did not miss any opportunity to teach us another wedding blessing and to have the bride and groom learn about the wedding traditions.

blog_0032blog_0033

Cheers!

blog_0034

Jason the handsome groom!

blog_0035

Donna was such a dreamy bride!

blog_0036

blog_0037blog_0038

The snow halted and the sun even came out for a little while so we went out on the castle grounds for bridals and romantics!

blog_0039blog_0040blog_0041blog_0042blog_0043

Jason joined in and I think he had fun too!

blog_0076blog_0077

Lastly I thought I would end the post with an oldie but a goodie that I dug up in my old photos.  This is a pic of sweet Donna and I at our high school graduation.  Donna, I am so proud of us both and the ladies we have become!  I just had to post this pic!

James Herriot was a veterinary surgeon in the Yorkshire Dales.  He wrote books about his life from his work and life experiences in this beautiful countryside.  I read his semi-autobiographical novels to Jenny when we first started dating.  I eventually proposed to her in the field where we had spent hours talking and laughing about the stories in his books.

This is us riding in the car surrounded by hedged fields, my much abused Bible slowly drifting across the dash.

b_0001

Thirsk is the actual residence of James Herriot.  Due to the governmental rules of the time, Alfred Wight/James Herriot had to change the names of things in his books due to a law against advertisements. though I’ll never be able to think of his hometown as anything other than Darrowby.

b_0002

We got to Thirsk late in the day so we walked around the town and finally met an older chap coming back from the Pubs who knew the owner of the Kirkgate House, a charming B&B.  We decided to stay and had a great conversation with the owners.  The Inn was only about 100 yards from the surgery where James, Sigfried, and Tristan spent their days.

b_0004

Skeldale House was the location of both the home & veterinary practice oh Jame Harriot  and is now a museum dedicated to James Herriot.  We took the Audio Tour which was guided by James’s Herriot’s son’s voice and he gave a very inciteful look into life at Skeldale House.

b_0005

the Babers and her wellies.

b_0003

The prim roses and more daffodils were there to greet us.

b_0006

Characters from the book were present throughout the museum.  This is Madame Pumphrey with her overweight Pekinese Tricki Woo, who was a favored and loved character in the books.

b_0007

James, Tristan, and Sigfreid spent many a late night drinking scotch and smoking their pipes in this room, later James’s kids played with his record player in the same room.

b_0008

One of the things James/Alfred wrote about often were the odd remedies, and bottle of useless potions that they would proscribe and use before the days of antibiotics and penicillin…UCM’s written in the daily log meant they  had no clue what was wrong with the cow.

b_0009

Tristan mixed quite a few bottles of Calcium stomach ointment in this room, while dosing off and smoking his Woodbines.

b_0010

Jenny got really excited when she saw Helen’s ( James’ wife) kitchen and her china.

b_0011

James’s son made a grand entrance into the books with his climbing and subsequent falling off of the Ivy during one of James’s clinical visits.  James ran out of the house to see if his son was ok and the client utter the words, “Ah, being a parent is a difficult thing Mr. Herriot, you’ve got to have nerves of steel!”.

b_0013

The abused Aston Martin with very bad brakes that James used during much of his veterinary life.  Tristan once forgot to set the parking brake and the car rolled down a hill and smashed the local golf course clubhouse building flat.

b_0016

We had a smooch in the garden and took some other random pics.

b_0015

James’s original diary, he wrote his books as an older man after talking about it for years, finally deciding to do it  after his wife said “You’re never going to write anything James”.

b_0014

The series All Creatures Great and Small built a set for the show in the actual surgery.

b_0017

This exact shot was taken of James, Sigfreid, and Tristan.

b_0032

No wonder the daffodils are everywhere.

b_0033b_0034

After we left Darrowby or Thirsk we headed to the Yorkshire Dales where James practiced.  The country side was AMAZING!

b_0044

b_0045

As we drove on an old back road between sheep fields, suddenly we came up on a secluded pub, the Wheatsheaf Inn was where James and Helen spent their Honeymoon, TB testing cows.  I caught the sign out of the corner of my eye and we had to stop and have a pint.

b_0046b_0047b_0048

Cindy & Matt’s day was a rainy day filled with lots of luck!  I have been dying to post their wedding ever since I shot it a couple of weeks ago!  We were blessed with little breaks in the rain and a fab location for their first look.  Mrs. Paula Knight let us use her enchanted garden that she and her husband built together. We kept calling it the romantic, enchanted garden of love!  It was such a lovely day and a lovely couple.  Cindy started her day at Signature Salon and Spa where the owner Nicole Mitchell rocked a fab updo and her makeup!   It was also a fun place for me to photograph some of Cindy’s details.

blog_00011

blog_00021

Cindy’s dress was by Amsale!  My fav part were the little sweet appliqued flowers at her waist band. The ceremony was later held at Northminster Presbyterian Church.

Meet Carlie and Anders!  I can’t say much more about these two other than it is amazing to photograph two people that are sooooo in love.  Their love is just contagious!  I have known them both from a distance at church and it was awesome getting to really know them.  We started their session at Carlie’s house which is where the couple will live when they tie the knot.  It’s an adorable house and her jasmine was in full bloom so we had to take advantage of it!  So check out their engagement! They are just so cute together!
